Volkswagen Jetta

05-09-2022

The Volkswagen Jetta has been in production since 1979. A small saloon or sedan-style family car, the Volkswagen Jetta was originally aimed at the American marketplace. Conceived as a VW Golf with a boot, the Volkswagen Jetta takes its name from the Volkswagen trend for naming its cars after certain winds, such as the VW Passat and VW Sirocco models. Early models of the Volkswagen Jetta proved a success, and it went on to enjoy the biggest European share of the American market.

By 2006, the Volkswagen Jetta had been completely remodelled into a four-door saloon style car with a more upmarket interior and by 2007, further enhancements such as turbocharged petrol 1.4 TSI had been added, with an economy model, the BlueMotion, launched in 2008. More than one third of all Volkswagen Jetta sales ever have been made in the USA. Used Volkswagen Jettas have reasonable value, with 1.9-litre TDI models tending to be the most commonly found in used car dealerships and typically at about 50% of their new cost price, are worth picking up as a second-hand car.

Marketed in different countries as the Volkswagen Vento or Volkswagen Bora, Volkswagen Jetta cars have been through four major stages of development before their latest restyling with sleek and sporty exterior as well as the dependable BlueMotion technology, TSI petrol, and TDI diesel engines you would expect from such an efficient car manufacturer as Volkswagen. The Volkswagen Jetta is highly rated by experts for its comfortable interior, refinement, the performance of its engine and all round quality and engineering. By 2011, worldwide Volkswagen Jetta sales are approaching the ten million mark, adding to Volkswagen's stable of successful cars.
